Call for applications: "Gender: concepts and approaches" distance learning course

The Réseau francophone des femmes responsables dans l'enseignement supérieur et la recherche (RESUFF), in collaboration with AUF and Université Rennes 2 (France), is launching a new distance learning course entitled "Genre: concepts et approches" to promote gender equality in francophone higher education and research. The call for applications is open until May 19, 2024.

This open and distance learning (ODL) course is open to all AUF member institutions.

Target audience

The course is aimed primarily at women (teachers, students and administrative staff of AUF member higher education and research establishments) wishing to familiarize themselves with gender issues. It is also open to men.

The aim is to promote gender equality in higher education institutions (HEIs), the dissemination of an egalitarian culture and the implementation of proactive policies in this area.

Where applications are of equal quality, priority will be given to candidates from the South.

Training objectives

It enables you to :

  • Acquire the knowledge and tools needed to effectively promote gender equality in French-speaking higher education institutions,
  • Develop knowledge and use it to support women's leadership. It also aims to promote equality in the exercise of responsibilities within HEIs through the implementation of an egalitarian institutional policy.

Training program

Three 20-hour teaching modules (designed by Université Rennes 2), for a total of 60 hours spread over 2 to 3 months between October and December 2024.

  • Module 1: Gender: definitions, contexts and institutional frameworks in higher education
  • Module 2: Wanting equality. Tools for exercising responsibilities in higher education and research
  • Module 3: Powering equality. Institutional transformation through gender mainstreaming in higher education institutions.

They enable tutored self-training at a distance with multiple-choice questionnaires (MCQs).

The engineering (module design and learning activities) of these modules is the responsibility of Fanny BUGNON, scientific and pedagogical manager of the Inter-University Diploma (DIU) "Gender Studies" at Rennes 2 University. Nicole BASTIN, a member of the "Gender Studies" digital DIU team, will be in charge of teaching.

Timetable

  • March 22, 2024: Launch of the call for applications
  • May 19, 2024 at 6 pm (GMT): Closure of the call for applications
  • July1, 2024: End of selection process and notification of results
  • September1, 2024: End of the period for payment of training fees by learners on the main list.
  • September 15, 2024: End of training fee payment period for learners on the complementary list.
  • October1, 2024: Start of training

Selection results will be announced by RESUFF and AUF.

The Continuing Education Department of Université Rennes 2 will be responsible for the administrative management of training agreements, learner registration and follow-up.
